THE PERCEPTION OF CREDIT EMPLOYEES ON THE FACTORS AFFECTING CREDIT RISK MANAGEMENT: THE CASES OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT BANK BRANCHES IN HANOI OF VIETNAM

Abstract:
The study focused on credit analysts' perceptions of factors affecting credit risk management at Agribank branches in Hanoi, Vietnam. The five Independent Variables used include: the efficiency of employees in the Bank credit; The credit policy and procedures of the Bank; The instructions of the Central bank; Information asymmetry and Risk management system. Results of the survey of 307 employees working in credit 34 Agribank branches in Hanoi showed that, all five independent variables have a positive impact on credit risk management. In particular, the information asymmetry and the credit policy, procedures of the Bank have the strongest impact on credit risk management at branches of Agribank. The independent variables in this study could be used to focus Agribank's resources, prioritize the improvement of information asymmetry between customers and banks, development, improvement of policies, processes and procedures for credit, fostering knowledge for credit employee to effectively manage the credit risk at the branch, step by step bringing bad debt down below the threshold allowed by the central bank.
